Laksa Steamboat Restaurant

Today we went to this Restaurant to try out something new...Laksa Steamboat. I came to know about this from 都是大发现 (On the Beat!). Went there wif some frens (SiangWei, Lengsun, Baoli & Sharmaine) & my bro and his frenfor dinner.

U can choose 2 different type of stock for 1 pot. We choose the Laksa & Chicken Stock. Since there are 7 of us, so we order 2 pots.

The stock in the steamboat is not rich Katong Laksa gravy, it's more diluted & contains a lot less coconut milk.The stock is not very spicy, there's chilli sauce on the table, so u can add more spicier urself.

The Laksa stock is quite nice!! worth giving it a try. Jus that their ingredients variety are quite limited. And after the meal, we feel abit thirsty... need to drink alot of water.

The prices of some of the items are...

Meats which are sliced paper-thin...Pork ($3), Beef ($5) & Chicken ($3)

Seafood...raw fish sliced ($10), Sotongs ($6), Cuttlefish ($5), Prawns ($8), Scallops ($8) & Sea-cucumber ($8)

Fishballs, Squidballs, Lobsterballs, Cockles or Yong Tau Foo, Seafood Tofu are ($3)

Vegetables such as cabbage, kangkong are $1.50, Tau pok is $1.50 too & mushrooms is $2.50

Quail Eggs ($5), Salmon Fish ($3), Panda Fish ($3)

我在这里长大。。。在这里上小学，中学。在这里度过了我的童年 =D

我好喜欢这里！！喜欢到west coast去看海，喜欢central的美食。。。还有，这里有好多我的好朋友！！不知道为什么most of my好朋友都住在west side (Jurong West, Clementi, CCK, Gombak)。(I live, I study, I eat, I play here...yay =D)

但是，1991年12月27日我搬家了。搬到一个那时朋友都说很远的地方。(because very inaccessible at that time) =D Now got MRT to everywhere...so no problem liao!!

今天，我又回到这里。。。Wow!! 好多地方都变了。来不急拍照留念了。Bus Interchange没有了(moved to a temporary location nearby)，Mac也不见了。My fav clock tower & water fountain are gone too.


Luckily, my fav food still around...hee

National Family Celebration 2008 (Family Carnival @ Singapore Flyer)

Today is the Official Launch of Family Day Celebration 2008. To mark this day, some 15,000 people take part in fringe activities at the Family Carnival @ Singapore Flyer.

As from this year, the organisers plan to declare every 4th Saturday in May as "Family Day Out"

Dount Factory

Me & Nk went to Donut Factory @ Novena Sq today, they have a combo set (2 donuts + drink) which cost $5.50. We ordered 2 sets and shared the donuts... yummy!!

The Rabbit & The Blonde

A man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit jump out across the middle of the road. He swerves to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately the rabbit jumps right in front of the car.

The driver, a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulls over and gets out to see what has become of the rabbit.

Much to his dismay, the rabbit is dead.
The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry.

A beautiful blonde woman driving down the highway sees a man crying on the side of the road and pulls over.

She steps out of the car and asks the man what's wrong.

'I feel terrible,' he explains, 'I accidentally hit this rabbit and killed it.'

The blonde says, 'Don't worry.'

She runs to her car and pulls out a spray can.

She walks over to the limp, dead rabbit, bends down, and sprays the contents onto the rabbit.

The rabbit jumps up, waves its paw at the two of them and hops off down the road.

Ten feet away the rabbit stops, turns around and waves again, he hops down the road another 10 feet, turns and waves, hops another ten feet, turns and waves, and repeats this again and again and again, until he hops out of sight.

The man is astonished. He runs over to the woman and demands, 'What is in that can? 'What did you spray on that rabbit?'

The woman turns the can around so that the man can read the label.

Porridge @ AMK FC (Blk 724)

Went to this juz revamp AMK FC, wanna find out whether those nice foodstalls that I used to patronize still ard anot. The Satay Mee Hood stall is still around...yapee!! I shld go try it out nxt time. My parents wanna try out their favourite ... the porridge stall... 成美食

This Porridge stall is very famous, if u went at meal time, be prepare to Q-up. And is Self-Serive also. The price are ard $3 and above.

Do remember to check ur porridge before bringing it to your seat, cos sumtime the boss will calculate the price wrongly (he will say the porridge got egg inside & collect extra) due to confusion. He will return the extra back when he realise his mistake.

Their Chicken Rice & Chipsy Tofu is quite nice, Thai style Cuttlefish is very spicy (if u like spicy can try this).

I personally like the peanut chocolate ice kachang...it's so special & taste yummy too =D
