Airshow 2008

Wow!! Yesterday was a Super Happy Day!!! Cos finally got a chance to go to the Airshow 2008 @ Changi Exhibition Centre. (i always wanna to go see the Aerobatic Flying Display at the airshow many yrs ago, but always dun hv accompany/transport)

JR bought a family package (4 admission tickets + 1 carpark label), so we (JR, me, my bro & NK) can drove there and avoid the long waiting hrs at the free shuttle bus pickup point. But there's still heavy jam along the way to the venue.

The Aerobatic Flying Display started at 1215pm, we are very near to the venue already, so we manage to take some photos from the car.

This Aerobatic Flying Display are bought to you by the following Exhibitor[Aircraft] :- RSAF Black Knights[F-16D+]; USAF[F/A-18]; Alenia Aermacchi[M-346]; Korea Aerospace Industries[T-50]; USAF[F-16 Fighting Falcon]; Airbus[A380]; RAAF[Pilatus PC-9]

This is the open Plaza for visitors to watch the Flying Display. (We are still on the Pedestrian Crossing Bridge, trying to cross over)

Here's our meal (Lunch+Dinner) at East Coast, the BBQ Stingy Ray & Satay...taste so so only, the Stingy ray hv a burned taste. This's my carrot cake, cost $3 ...taste not bad. My bro had finished his fried oyster before i came back wif my carrot cake. JR ordered western food (at the background).

Green Mark Building

We passed by National Library the other day, JR mentioned that this building is the best energy saving Building in Singapore. It had been many years that I last touched on Intelligent Building Technology. After JR mention that, my interest start to glow again.

So I decided to do a search on the web, I realised that National Library has been awarded Green Mark Platinum (Green Mark Point 85 and above) by BCA.

Some features to look-out when u visit the library nxt time :-

• This Building is orientated away from the east-west sun, combined with sunshading features on the west face of the building as an additional shield against solar heat gain and glare.
• Energy efficient features include daylight sensors which are used together with automatoc blinds at the building facades, motion sensors and energy efficient lightings.
• A open plaza area between the two blocks which allows natural ventilation and daylighting.
• Extensive landscaping, sky terraces and roof gardens are utilized to lower local ambient temperature.
• Use rain sensor as part of the automatic irrigation system for rooftop gardens. Water efficient taps and cisterns are also used to conserve water.

Chingay 2008

Chingay is back to City Hall!!

In order to get a gd spot, we reached there before 7pm. The areas along the parade route is already very crowded. I manage to get myself a gd spot by the railing, but JR was kana pushed backward by the aunties... endup i had to take photos for the whole 3hrs w/o helper (JR).

Here's the some snaps before the parade..

The Guest-of-Honour & other VIPs make their way to the grand stand (start pt of the parade), with accompanied by the Singapore Gdn Festival Float (in the middle of the photo), Ghingay Love Boat (top right corner), Pride of Lion (middle right), Vintage car, Harley Davidson bikes (bottom left corner), various sports cars.

Parade Started off with Fireworks at the grand stand @ City Hall, followed by the RED BULL F1 CAR SHOW. Wow!! It's so cool, so happy to see the tremendous performance of the F1 car!! I managed to video it (but it's too big to upload it here =P), here's few screenshots.
