Went to watch the sneak preview of this movie, a chinese romance [那些年我們一起追的女孩]. The story background is in Taiwan, it's about how a group of teenagers grow up, their life in secondary school & U. 主角柯景騰喜歡一个女孩沈佳宜，但一直没有相她告白。最后她嫁给别人了。如果他有勇气握着她的手，或许现在新郎就是他了。

题外话：

有一个女孩很喜欢一个男孩，但是男孩有一天告诉女孩，"We can only be friend..."。女孩哭了，但她仍坚强的回了男孩，“我一直把你当好朋友啊”。因为她不想失去了一个知己。。。

Today is my happiest b'day even... On 17.09.11, we went to Swensen's for dinner

Our side dishes... (1) Prawn & Fruits Salad, (2) Fried Mushroom, (3) Beef Lasagna

Our Main Course ... Cheese Steak Meltdown & Mushroom Baked Rice

Swensen closed at 10:30pm. So we went to Wendy's to have a drink while waiting for our movie.

We watched Johnny English Reborn...hahaha...he's so Funny!!! Past midnight, it's my Birthday!! And I start my day with joy & laughter!! =D

昨天2pm我和Nk去了PC Show。。。好多人哦！！

我买了一台新相机。。。Sony WX7 还有帮弟弟买了一个500G的Portable Harddisk。本来以为可以很快离开那里，可是我们在M1那里待了很久。。。本想碰碰运气，但是1hr后还是买不到ipad2。。。Oh my legs are so tired！我想在电话另一边等待消息的朋友应该很失望吧！！

Went to watch Scream 4 yesterday nite... had been quite awhile since i last watch a horror movie, lucky my heart still can take it..kakaka =P

非常好的一篇文章. 我們的長輩應該都是這樣的想法: 永遠都是把錢存起來, 等到老的時候再花. 問題是我們能有這麼長的命來花嗎?

把握當下!

『等到我學業完成以後，我定要好好地放鬆自己。』
『等到我生意上了軌道以後，我定要出國旅行，到處遊玩，開開眼界。』

『等到我賺了錢以後，我定要好好地孝敬父母，讓他們過上好日子。』

『等到我買了房子以後，我就會停下忙碌的腳步，好好享受人生。』

等到‥‥‥等到‥‥‥我們總是這樣對自己說，
也總是這樣把享受人生寄托在遙不可知的未來。
似乎我們所有的生命，都消耗在等待上。

曾有這麼兩個年青人，一位是中國人，另一位是美國人。
他們同在某個大城市的一家公司上班，職位相同，薪金相同，
然而所過的生活卻迥然不同。

那位美國人在他上班一年後，
用所賺的薪金分期付款買了一套非常漂亮、
舒適的房子，日子過得稱心如意；
而另外那位中國人，卻是租住在一棟非常破舊的公寓裡，
房子又黑又小又舊，彷彿稍微用力一點，整個房子就會倒塌似的。

那位中國人省吃儉用，他告訴自己，
等到賺夠了錢，就一定要買棟漂亮的房子，
讓自己住得舒服一點。

二十年後，他終於如願以嘗，
在那位美國人所住的公寓裡買了一套與他一樣漂亮的房子，與美國人毗鄰而居。

這就是中國人的悲哀，也是東方人與西方人最大的區別。

中國人顧慮太多，總是把生命用在等待上；

而西方人卻是秉持"把握現在，及時行樂"的人生態度。

如果那位中國人也像那位美國同事一樣，
用分期付款的方法買一套房子?
那他不也是一樣可以在二十年前就讓自己過得舒服一點了嗎？

人人都願意犧牲現在，去換取不可知的等待；
犧牲今生的辛苦錢，去換取來世的安逸。

其實我們毋須等到生活完美無瑕，也毋須等到一切穩定下來，
想做什麼，現在就可以開始。
每個人的生命都有盡頭，許多人往往在生命即將結束時，
才發現自己還有很多事沒有做，這實在是一種遺憾。

人生是一張單程車票，失去的便永遠不會再擁有。
千萬別把美好的生命浪費在等待上，把握現在，享受現在，才是最重要的。

Ah Loy Thai... a place for thai food that i will highly recommended, they serve cheap & good food. Had visited them 2 times (30.05.09 & 20.06.09), here are some dishes that i had ordered:-

Fried Glass Noodles (Fried Vermicelli) - $5 per plate, very nice, worth ordering.

Tom Yam Soup - $5.50 per bowl, it's like for 2 pax serving, not as spicy as expected, just nice for ppl that dun quite like spicy food. Lack of the numbing spiciness as compared with the authentic tomyam soup.

Kangkong - nice, they put some chillies but not spicy at all.

Mango fried Chicken - crispy chicken serve with mango slices & sour sauce. thumb up!!

Fried Pineapple Rice - $4.50/plate, different from the pineapple rice that i ate at other place.

Tom Yam Stream Fish - Yummy =P

Pandan Chicken - $6.50 per plate

Thai Green Curry - not very spicy as expected also, the ingredients are fishball & chicken slice.

Thai Red Tea (cold) - $1.30 per glass, I personally like this =P

Pineapple Drink - $1.70/glass, Icy ordered this, she say is nice. (shld b very refreshing la, cos she ordered 2 glass leh!) =P

Red Ruby - $3 per bowl, yummy...have to share this with someone, i like to eat the jackfruit & the red ruby =P

Papaya Salad - $4 per plate, Sour....

星期六13.06.09是一个busy & happy day.

Went for Dim Sum High Tea Buffet @ 老北京 with JR。那里的点心和我们常吃的香港点心有点不一样。他们没有虾饺，风爪，排骨和粉卷("Chee Cheong Fan")。

I personally like their Winter Melon Soup, very tasty...it's a MUST TRY. Their starter dish...jellyfish is pretty nice too. I like their 小笼汤包 also.

They have many types of 锅贴。And they served Herbal Tea (Luohan Tea) instead of Chinese Tea.

There's one item which have a orange colour cast & red bean paste inside, I like that too, but i just realised the orange colour outer cast is actually pumpkin which i tend to suffer from stomach aching if eating too much. lucky me, i'm still ok =D

One more item to recommend is the Custard Buns, i like the inside filling...hee =P

Their sweet-sour pork is not bad, how i wish they serve me a bowl of rice together wif it.

Their service is overall ok, just that there is no indication/label infront of each dishes. So you have to make a guess for what you are picking up.

29.05.2009 is a special day cos it's my best fren B'day!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MOSHI!!

It's also a busy & stress working day too. Rushing for 3 tasks...one is "Urgent", another "Very Urgent" & one more "Very Very Urgent" project...haizz... construction line, everyday is urgent work. that's my life... =P

At least i end my day happily. Went for dinner & watch Terminator Salvation with JR. Had been quite awhile since the last time i watch a movie in cinema. This is a nice movie.

Went to this cafe for dinner today. They serve HK cafe style dishes. I can say the food here is the nicest i had tasted before, compare to other HK cafe in Singapore. They don't have service charges, but their service is very good.

Astons served quality food at affordable price. All the dishes that we ordered come with 2 side dishes of your choice. Me & bro ordered Prime Ribeye (the one in the middle is mine), BZ ordered Prime Sirloin (Top Right), Dad ordered NY Strip (Top Left), Mum ordered Black Pepper Steak (didn't manage to take photo, was bz eating liao =P)

03.05.09. My company had organized a BBQ outing @ East Coast on this Sunny Sunday. The workers are all having lots of fun!! They all arrived in lorries @ 9am...very ON hor!! The catering food came around 11am... the time me & other colleagues arrive =P

I like Care bears since young, especially TenderHeart Bear. I was at a shop few weeks back, and saw this poor little fellow, hanging on the shelf alone. He seem to be looking at me, and asking me to bring him out to 'play'.

So here he is... following me in & out. A helping hand in office? hmm... sort of ba...his duty is to make my colleagues laugh, cos he's so cute/naughty =P

Went to this Mad Jack Cafe located at Jln Kayu. The place is cosy, a nice place to sit down & relax. There's a TV in the center of the shop also, so soccer fans can watch their fav match while hving meal there. Cool!!

Singapore is SUPER Hot these few days!!! I'm melting no matter where I'm.

My room is 32deg!! I can't even get to sleep at night yesterday. Had on 2 fans at max speed already, but I'm still sweating all over. Manage to catch some slp at 5am finally. Hope tonight the weather will be better, but from what i see now, my room is still 32deg, the weather did not get any better.

Haizz....need to work tmr, die die also must knock myself out tonight. Where can I get a place to sleep at a comfortable temperature?

I'm a quiet/talkative person, depend on how well you know me lor =P. I need at least 8hrs of sleep, but normally didn't sleep so much lah, where got so much time? I like to enjoy the sound of the wave, used to go to West Coast to sit there & enjoy the quiet sea breeze by myself. =P

Went to Clementi today afternoon. Here's are some random photos.
There used to have a clock tower here...i really misses it =(
When young, we used to have our meals here. One of our fav hawker centre with nice foods. Hope it will stay forever (with the nice nice stalls inside), don't tear down when upgrading this town.
This old cinema is still here.
That the background, that's the Indoor Sport Hall & there's a swimming pool next to it. We used to go there play with water when young.
This new shopping centre had replace the old cinema building. The one that most of ur remember as a building where Mcdonald is. Now there's no more Mcdonald, but got my fav... MOS Burger. =P

Actually a fren had 'jio' me to sentosa today, but I decided to accompany my parents to Chinatown. At the same time, i can play with my new toy also...heehee.

Early morning, we set off to Farrer Park Area to look for delicacy...kaka =D ... Haizz...how to slim down like that?? =P

Okie...here's our itinerary.

1st stop - Beef Ball Soup @ 217 Syed Alwi Road
大埔牛肉丸 open everyday except Friday. Alot of newspapers had interviewed this stall.
Their soup & beef balls are both very tasty. It's cost $3, consider quite reasonable price for their quality of food. If you are afraid that the soup is not enough for you, can order mee or rice too.

Very Worth Trying!!!

2nd stop - Laksa @ Blk 27 Townshend Rd
结霜桥Laksa, this stall is one of the famous Laksa Stall in Singapore too.
Their Laksa cost $2 per bowl, have to eat with spoon. Taste very nice also, the soup is not too spicy for me & their clam is very freshy!!

3rd stop - Yong Tou Fu @ Golden Mile Food Ctr
We walked from Syed Alwi Rd via Jln Sultan, passed by Blk 462 Crawford Ctr & Textile Ctr.
At Crawford Ctr, we saw the bamboo tray for cooking. Mum say that's what my aunties are looking for.
At Textile Ctr, my first time been here. Wow!! this plc is fun...alot of beads, treads & textile.
Finally reached Golden Mile Food Ctr, I'm very tired already after the long walk. "Old liao lah" =P. My Brother meet up with us there for Lunch.

The Yong Tou Fu is located at #B1-44. 8pcs of items + mee hoon cost $3. Their soup is highly recommended to try.

what a lousy week i had been thru, firstly, my desktop breakdown again on monday (it had juz came back from the repair shop less than 2 weeks ago!!) *faint*

then tot i can end my wk happily since i'm meeting my kakis for makan & chitchat, BUT!! I kana virus from a colleague!! terribly ill...now while typing, i'm still coughing!! Yesterday nite, still hving high fever. sob sob (*_*) Whole body is aching, really feel like dying. Hope i can recover juz in time for work on coming monday, too many things left undone, very stressful liao.

Lucky for me, i have a beloved bro. he volunter to settle the things for me which i'm suppose to get them done today. Thanks Bro!!

Early morning today, we went out for HK dim sum @ AMK. Dad found out the location of this 'famous' Dim Sum stall on TV recently.

We reached there early in the morning thinking that we will be the first few to patron this stall, but we are wrong!! There's a SUPER Long Q, which we can see from far!! *faint*

We need to Q about 1hr to reach the counter to place our order. Looking for an empty seat is another challenging task.

Alot of items had finished when it's our turn to place order, it's only 11am plus!! 6 items cost abt $16++, not cheap lor!! And due to overcrowded of customers, they have a shortage of manpower & thus abit messy. They had also charges us wrongly, mum only realise it when we reached home. *haizz*

As for the dim sum....they taste normal lor...nutting much or so special lor. Unless you have a lot of time, and not very hungry, then can go there join the Q. Not sure abt wkday, mayb lesser ppl, their service will be better ba. Dad had asked them abt their opening hrs, they're open till 9pm everyday.

What A morning Breakfast... Arghhh!!!

Now blogging with half full stomach =( , wanna take a nap in order to forget the hungryness but it's super noisy right now downstairs as there's a carnival there since early this morning. Zzz

Hope tonite show <宝岛一村> will be a nice one, so atleast i can end my wkend happily. =D Pray hard i can catch my last train home later, I miss it last sat. (going home alone so late is so scary...had a bad experience yrs back)

Marina Barrage

The Marina Barrage is located at Marina Bay. It's a dam spanning the Marina Channel, forming Singapore's 1st reservoir in the city. It will be a new source of water supply for S'pore, serve as flood control, & deliver an impeccable waterfront experience.This is the roof garden where we can picnic here. And can see the beautiful city skyline from here too. This green roof garden is actually build to serve as an insulation to lower the temperature of the building.
There's 8 pavilions along the Marina Bridge where we can gather with a bunch of friends, sit ard & chit chat while enjoying the sea breeze. This Bridge is also the Barrage, it comprises of 9 steel crest gates, 30m long each, built across the 350m wide Marina Channel. Beside separating seawater from freshwater, it also acts as a tidal barrier to keep out high tide. The 5m tall gates can be lowered during heavy rain so that water from reservoir can be released into the sea.

Here's the water playground, see so many children playing there, there are adults too =P
There are also art pieces by local & international artists located around the facility.
There's also a Support Sustainability Gallery, where you can learn abt Singapore's efforts towards environmental sustainability. At the exit of the Gallery, is a small cafe for you to relax & take a drink & bits after a long day. There's also a Chinese Restaurant at Level 1 too.

Getting there:
Currently there's a free shuttle bus service from Marina Bay MRT Station to Marina Barrage (interval of 15~30mins).

Opening Hours: Wkdays 9am-6pm; Wkends & PH 10am-8pm; Closed on tue.

出自方姓，为南宗方谆之后，御赐改为邝氏。南宋孝宗乾道四年（1168年）有方氏第148世祖方谆，字愈平，因长女方淑丽被册为皇妃，方愈平受封宣城侯，食采宣城（今安徽省宣城市）御赐姓邝。愈平因而由姓方改为姓邝，本应为邝氏之始祖，但愈平念其本，尊其父三七公为邝氏始祖，愈平公自己则为邝氏二世祖

邝姓迁徙分布
邝氏之先，始自方姓。

据《姓苑》载：“广东南海多此姓。”江南方氏支系七世祖方廷英，生三子，长子以平，讳询，号三七，改取邝姓。宋高宗建炎三年（1129年），邝询在宋朝廷任内侍（传达皇命的小官吏）。三月，发生“苗刘之变”，邝询忖思朝政动乱不安，于1129年4月全家南迁广东南海县大镇乡尚书朗里，构庐建业，教子成名。邝询也就是广东邝氏始祖，南海县大镇乡也就是广东邝姓发祥地。以平，生四子曰谚、让、诚、谆。邝谆生三子，长子一元、次子一声、三子一俊。邝谆1142年登进士，1146年登科，1152年膺任临安京城大尹（汉代都城行政长官称尹），1168年，诰封光禄大夫（官名，主要掌管皇室的膳食），太子太保（辅助皇太子的官），宣城侯爵。何、冯夫人荣膺正一品夫人之封。谆官居临安60年之久。

1217年，元兵攻宋，邝谆上疏缓金伐元，次年被贬辞朝，带领全家南迁广东惠州河源县，1219年愤闷而死。邝谆逝世后，兄弟三人，秉承遗嘱，遵从父命，分居各处。邝一元公以世臣之子，留居河源，长守父墓。邝一声迁新会县古冈（历史上曾置冈州，州治今新会城，故会城又名冈城，新会又名冈州，古冈山在新会城附近，“古冈独松真茂盛 ”，是新会县八景之一），为新会、开平、台山三县邝氏之祖。邝一俊公返居南海县大镇乡。

三世祖邝一声生于1155年10月2日，终于1246年7月8日。 26岁登第进士，点为朝奉大夫，刑部主政，历任刑部主事、国子监祭酒、尚宝司署、钦差提督、刑部尚书，诰封太子太保、朝奉大夫等，前后达三十余年。邝谆逝世后，邝一声于1225年由河源迁新会古冈，后又迁古博里潘村甲。木房（现属开平市辖）。邝一声生二子。长子讳奎，字公昭，是开平潘村邝氏之祖。次子讳兴，字公表，生于1197年9月9日，终于1269年3月。邝公表公于宋理宗淳祐年间（1241-1252年间），由潘村迁到新宁县冲云堡忠心村（现属台山市三八镇冲云管理区忠心村）。四世祖邝公表是台山市邝氏始祖，忠心村是台山邝氏发祥地。

邝氏子孙繁衍昌盛，枝繁叶茂。自四世祖邝公表至今约800年间，由第四世繁衍至33-34世，在台山有13835人，分居在全市12镇的154条自然村。（余略）

邝氏流传至今，子孙己达三十多代，人口三百多万人。

邝姓历史名人
邝露：字湛若（1604-1650），号海雪，明代广东南海人。工诗文，擅书法。崇祯七年（1634年）因得罪南海知县而亡命广西，曾游于岑、蓝、胡、侯、槃五姓土司，受瑶族女将云郸娘聘为书记，有机会深入了解民族风情、山川地貌、古迹名胜、珍禽异兽、趣事轶闻，写成《赤雅》一书，对研究广西古代少数民族及山川古迹有重要参考价值。南明唐王时任中书舍人。永历帝时出使广州，清兵入城，抱古琴、古器、古籍自尽。

邝埜：字孟质，明代宜章（今湖南宜章）人，永乐进士。官至兵部右侍郎。其父邝子辅任过安福县令，后任句容县教谕（学政官）。《明史·邝埜传》记载了邝子辅批评教育邝埜的故事。邝埜为人处世勤勉、廉洁、端正、谨慎，对父母十分孝顺。他的父亲邝子辅是句容教官，他对邝埜教育十分严格。邝埜在陕做官时间长了思念父亲，就打算聘请父亲到陕县去做乡试考官，父亲知道后，十分生气，说：“儿子是那里的御史，而父亲却去做考官，这样我还怎么能够受到限制和约束呢？”于是就很快写信对儿子进行批评责备。还有一次，邝埜给父亲寄去一件粗布衣服，邝子辅又写信对儿子进行责备：“你执掌刑法，应把精力用在洗雪冤案和办理积案上，这样才能不愧于自己的职责。你从哪里弄到这件衣服拿来砧污我？于是把布衣包裹好又寄还给邝埜。邝埜收到父亲信后，流着眼泪诵读，接受父亲的教诲。

邝曰广：明代襄阳推官。广东番禺人，耿介自持，善理冤狱。崇祯十四年，献贼围城，与副使张克俭同御贼，中刃死。妻谭氏、妾季氏同二女被害。子逢明、逢泰，同殉节。

Yakiniku Daidomon

Yakiniku Daidomon is a Japanese BBQ Restaurant open since 1982. Me & XP went to their newly open United Square Outlet to try out thieir Wagyu (和牛) .

Wagyu is a Japanese Beef Cattle Breed. 'Wa' means Japanese Style and 'Gyu' means cattle. Wagyu has the softer fat which improves the meat flavour & taste. The fat in the meat has twice more mono-unsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) than traditional breeds cattle & melts at room temperature which makes Wagyu Beef suitable as part of a lower cholesterol diet.

KOBE Beef comes from a breed of cattle called Wagyu. In order to earn the designation of KOBE BEEF, the Wagyu Beef must come from Kobe, Japan.

Family Day 2008

Today 02.11.08 is my dad's company's Family Day. The venue of this event is located in Sentosa, Tanjong Beach.

We (me & noor) went there early in the morning, to avoid the big crowded. We took the monorail from Vivocity Station to the Beach Station.

There's a free shuttle bus at the Beach Station fetching us to Tanjong Beach.

Arriving at the venue, there's alot of ppls there already.

After getting all the goodies bag & food, we went back to the Beach Station to enjoy the sea breeze while drinking our coffee & enjoying out Lunch.

Genting Highland Tour

Early morning on 25.10.08 @ 6:30am, me & my colleagues assembly outside Golden Mile Complex to departure to Genting Highland, Malaysia.

Genting Highland is super crowded due to the oncoming Deepavali Holiday. We arrived in Genting on 2pm, but have to check-in on 4:30pm after the long-Q. haizz...almost half a day gone liao.

We check into First World Hotel, there are 2 towers in this hotel, we are staying in the Tower 1. This is a 3-stars Hotel, with the most number of rooms. There's a plaza at the 1st - 3rd storey of the hotel, the indoor theme park is inside there too. (Note to those intend to stay in this hotel, there's no face towel, no kettle provided in the room. There's a hot & cold water dispenser at the corridor)

Dinner is International Buffet at Coffee Terrace, treated by our boss =D. The buffet here have more varitey compare to the one we ate at resort cafe later. The food in Coffee Terrace is nicer too, but i like the chinese soup at resort cafe. Coffee Terrace is located at level 1 in Genting Hotel, another nice dinning place is the Genting Palace on Level 2. They serve Cantonese Dim Sum which is Halal. I like their porridge... very yummy!!

We went downhill on the 2nd day, 26.10.08. We took the Genting Skyway, the skyway ride is fun, it's half price if u remember to bring your hotel room card, valid for 2 pax per card.

There a big titbits shop at the skyway station downhill (Goh Tong Jaya), we spent alot $$ here =P.

There's a horse farm outside the station, we also took a shuttle bus to the town area. Thought of having our Lunch here, but couldn't find any Malay food here. Saw a veg farm behind some shophouse in the town, nice place...feel very relax in this town.

We check-out at 12noon on 27.10.08, but can only depart at 2pm. The journey back to Singapore is tiring, there's many accidents on the highway in Malaysia on our way back. We clear the Malaysia Checkpoint quite Fast, but was on a long-Q jam to Singapore Tuas CheckPoint. I finally arrived in Singapore at 11:30pm. Zzzz....what a long way to reach hm!! =P

Tmr is my mum's BIG Day!! =D I bought her a piece of cake from Tampopo Deli. It's her favourite... Green Tea Cake.

Dinner...Mummy is taking a break, we went out to eat tonite. We booked a table at Le Chasseur 乐食轩 to celebrate her b'day in advance.

We had ordered many nice dishes, Claypot Rice ($7.80) / Duck Soup ($12.50) / Kai Lan & Beef ($8.00) / Hot Plate Tofu ($6.00) / Stewed Pork Leg ($7.50) / Minced Chili Fish Head ($20.00). As for drinks we have Fresh Barley ($1.20) / Fresh Lime Juice ($1.60).

I forgotten to take photos again!! Arghhhh...why non of them remind me??!! We are so bz eating...so many nice dishes...too bz le lah!!

Sumthing had happen last sat, making me very upset. Early in the morning last Saturday 04.10.08, a loud boom came from my CPU, i saw many smoke coming out from the CPU & Speaker. Quickly unplug all the power socket, and all connection to the PC. Moving it to my living room, thinking that it's only the Battery problem, I try to retrieve my data from my harddisk using a USB to IDE cable. But smoke came out immediately the moment i plug in the power supply. Oh NO!! That's BAD!! Harddisk Burn liao...My data...all gone liao!! Sob Sob =(

I'm very sad now...Very lost...Data of more than 5yrs...all gone. Now my only hope is that only my harddisk is spoil, the rest of the hardware are ok. So that i no need to spend a large $$ to get a new desktop.

Waiting for good news from the pc repair shop.... *_*

Okinawan Diner Nirai-Kanai is an Authentic Japanese Restaurant, it's a famous restaurant for pork-lover.

I went to their newly opened branch @ Liang Court yesterday for Dinner w/ Moshi & XP. It's a nice & cosy place. Here's their menu & their daily promotion. Ladies...30% off for food & drink on tue. Sashimi 30% off on thursday!!

Their Green Teas come in different tea pots... =P

We (me & moshi) ordered their Okinawa Noodle Set (highly recommended by Moshi =P). Very nice!! Yummy!! Must try! Must try! This set consist of Mixed Okinawan Noodle (w/ Pork-rib & Aosa-seaweed), Okinawan seasoned rice, Peanut bean curd & Okinawan Donut.

XP ordered this...Rafute Set. See....the small brown round thing at the top right corner is the Okinawan Donut (Sada-andagi).

Ever wonder what is actually an island where waste now ends up? Ash from incineration plants & non-incinerable refuse such as construction & renovation debris. Don't think it's a place that stinks like rubbish chutes we walked past in our estate. You'll be amazed by the scenery you can catch on this island.

Pulau Semekau is Singapore's only landfill & world's first-of-its-kind offshore landfill created almost entirely from the sea.

Currently, Singapore recycles abt 44% of its waste. The remaining waste is sent either for incineration or to the landfill site. B'cos of our limited land, the gov decided to build a landfill site enclosing a part of the sea off the islands of Pulau Semakau & Pulau Sakeng. Semekau Landfill start operation on 01 April 1999.

Newly built Visitor Centre to welcome visitors to Semakau landfill for environmental or geography trip.

A 7-km perimeter rock bund was built to enclose a part of the sea off Pulau Semakau & Pulau Sakeng. The bund is lined with impermeable membrane & a layer of marine clay to ensure that leachate from the refuse is contained within the landfill area & treated at the leachate treatment plant.

It’s a unique island, coexisting with vibrant marine ecosystem, mangroves, grassland & shoreline habitats. A place rich in amazing wildlife & a wide variety of plants. The island is just a 45mins ferry ride from Marina South Pier.

This is the place where we'll be having a BBQ by the sea after a tour of the landfill.

Nice Scenery along the shore...

A wind turbine was recently installed in 2006 as an experiment to study the possibility of harnessing renewable energy to power Singapore's southern island.

When frens started to ask..."hey, did u & ur family went out to eat to celebrate ur b'day?""Foods not nice huh?""where's the photos?"

And the answers are... "Yes, we did went out to eat.""foods very nice!!""photos...hehe...forget to take =P"....symptom of getting older....very forgetful liao =P
